The sovereign way

ABOUT THE SOVEREIGN BIRTH PATH

1-We honor that all women and girls carry the ancestral memory of how to birth and mother undisturbed. 

2-The pregnant/birthing woman has supreme power over her body, birth, and newborn. She's also the only authority.

3-The pregnant/birthing woman is centered as the fully capable woman that she is. 

4-The pregnant/birthing woman chooses her own support people or births solo. 

5-Mother and baby stay as one dyad through baby's birth and for baby's transition earthside.

6-When I'm at a birth, I'm present as an experienced and intuitive birth witness. I'm responsible to the woman, not for her. I respond as needed in the moment, it's my responsibility to do that.

7-I serve postpartum according to the woman's desires and according to the needs of the moment.

8-If a woman goes to the medical/governmental system or allows any authority over her, it's because she chose to do so from 100% self-agency.

Any woman may walk the sovereign path.

On the sovereign path women may birth freely, rebirth themselves, and mother in wholeness.  

On the sovereign path the newborn may begin her/his life as a divine and natural being. 

In the sovereign way we heal, rewrite family story, and offer this vibration of wholeness, love, and motherwit to the world.

Sovereignty in birth also means that the birthing woman has any amount of help and guidance; it's entirely up to her.

Sovereignty in birth is not another "birth method" nor a guarantee of outcome; it has nothing to do with those things.

There's an infinite number of ways sovereignty affects the trajectory of life.

We're generations deep in instinct injury* because we're imprinted to submit ourselves and our newborns to the authority of the medical-governmental system. So, sovereignty and recognizing our own instincts are new realities for most of us.

My presence at sovereign birth is not contingent on your gestation, labor pattern, what happened during this pregnancy or your prior pregnancies, or anything else going on with you such as your medical conditions/labels, your lifestyle, your partner's lifestyle, your income, the details of your birth space, how much food you have in your home at a given time, etc. This is why sovereign birth is inclusive to any woman or girl.

Disclaimer #1. Sovereignty is not "better" or "worse" in terms of birth choices. First, there's no hierarchy here. Second, if I were to claim to know what's "better" for another women, then "shame on me;" I would need to completely reset myself.
