midwife or birthkeeper

I walk with women and families as a birthkeeper or as a private midwife. Ask about joining our membership.

I'm here for homebirth free from the system. (Some women choose another safe space such as an airb or a friend's home.)

Any woman may choose to birth free from submission to the government controlled obstetric system.

Here's what happens during your pregnancy.

We create a trust based relationship at our pre birth connection sessions.

We may go over some of the following topics.

* see why birth works best when it's undisturbed

* deprogram from in-system indoctrination

* I get to know your partner and family

* ways to encourage a healthy pregnancy

* clarify prenatal care options: wild pregnancy*, self-testing, some in-system tests 

* clarify who's invited to your birth space

* variations of normal on pregnancy, birth, placentas, newborn appearance+

* explore your dreams, fears, concerns, prior birth stories

* tools of radical self-responsibility.

There is no agenda here. We may share food, do yoga, reiki, and more.  We may end up just talking and walking together.

Here's what happens at your birth space.

You are centered and exalted as you move freely through your birth process, give birth, and begin mothering your child earthside. 

I'm present in my own authority as an intuitive and experienced birth witness.

I may:

- clear the energy 

- pray with you according to your own beliefs or religion.

- support you during your birth process/aka labor

- support you during baby's emergence, placenta birth, and more

- help with children, partners, others 

- offer food, drink, clean-up

- share my opinion 

- be one room away for most/all of your birth process

- show up after you've birthed your baby

- stay with you for days and nights when your birth process ebbs and flows

- go with you when YOU choose to transfer to the medical-government controlled system, usually to a hospital

I then stay with you after your baby is born until you're snuggled in with your baby, things are cleaned up, and you're okay with me heading out.

There's no time limits on any of this.

Postpartum

I may:

- nourish you

- listen as you integrate birth, rebirth, or anything 

- breastfeeding support + help with everything newborn

- ceremony

- help with older children, pets, household chores, errands.

- explore keeping your newborn wild or ways to present her/him to the system.

- I offer post birth support daytime, 9 am to 5 pm, for a few days/weeks post birth. Usually  these sessions are two to three hours.

We can meet in person when you're within 10 miles of Milwaukee or we can meet by Zoom.
