Martha's path to homebirth

I walk with women and families along the sovereign birth path. I walk with the women I serve, I'm not an authority over them.

The sovereign path is unique to each person. And so, some of my clients come to me already fully sovereign, some create a hybrid, and some start out in the system.

I'm not a medical provider, nor am I in the process of becoming one. I'm not accountable to any medical rules or protocols. I'm not licensed by the state. I do not provide medical advice or medical anything. 

I learn from my clients. Actually, I learn from clients every day.

I'm credentialed by Whapio's Matrona for Holistic Midwifery. I have a holistic midwifery education.

- Medical version of neonatal resuscitation. I'm not currently certified. I've learned many things about this procedure and other mainstream rituals that separate human mothers from their newborn babies. And, I've witnessed what happens when mother and baby stay as one. I may share the drastic difference between these two realities with you.

I'm deep in everything midwifery and birth as shared by Oni Lee Logan, Anne Frye, Yolande Clark, Sister MorningStar, Susun Weed, Talise Homebirth Queen, Heather Baker, Jennifer Block, all kinds of birth stories, and more. 

I follow Whapio's Matrona, Rachel Reed, Bridge Midwifery, Qiddist Ashe/The Holy Well, Free Birth Society, Dr. Sara Wickham, Dr. Stu, Breech without Borders, Kemi Joy, and many local people.

MY ROOTS: my ancestors, especially my mom Eunice Dittmer Girard, and my main spirit guide grandmother Ann Keune Girard, my own children, friends, all kinds of people, Mother Earth, books, meditations, witnessing, and epiphanies.

I'm a mother, friend, wife, earth worshipper, river walker, yogi, reiki practitioner, and a woman rich with life experiences. I'm deeply grateful for all of this.

My default is to be outside.

PRIOR TO WALKING AS A MIDWIFE:                                      

I mothered my three children into adulthood. I worked 24 years in the medical paradigm: 18 years in cardiology and six years as a doula. I've had many certificates, degrees, credentials, and jobs. It's totally freeing now: my work and life are ONE.
